Inter in Turin...Milan v Juve...Monza (& Gijón) v Modena...Arezzo are Back...Atalanta U19 cup win...Samb survive...Chieti away
As Inter ultras (1489) travelled to Turin in hope of clinching the league title, Torino ultras had announced that they wouldn’t tolerate any celebration in their own town. This eventually did not materialize, but at Milan Central station the black and blue ultras displayed a banner stating clearly their intentions – “Granata ultras let’s get to work – we came to celebrate.” Truly stunning pictures from our friend Guillermo who took the shots as the away ultras descended in Turin Porta Nuova station and marched towards the ground.

Our friend Guly instead was the author of these incredible flags depicting the heraldic emblem of the city of Milan, the six badges of the four gates of the city, and the huge 30-metre banner “Milano Bianconera” as the black and white ultras welcomed Juventus for their highly anticipated clash with AC outside Hotel Sheraton (dead rubber and boring game in the end). Same old restrictions though as the tifo wasn’t allowed into the San Siro and the away ultras had to make do with the big banner only. Once inside, the Milan ultras instead gave life to a special tifo with the lights of their mobile phones, displaying “€ 139” which ultimately was one of the lowest prices to attend the game from their end (!). Away fans instead had to fork out € 75 to attend the game “from the gods” of the third tier (what would they have to pay for PSG v Bayern just a few days later is beyond us then…).

In midweek, Atalanta ultras attended the Coppa Italia Primavera (U19) final at the Arena Civica in Milan (v Juve). The scenic background was the ideal setting for their cup win. Pics of the Dea ultras walking in the Parco Sempione shot by Guly.

Other Serie A MD 34 pics include Cagliari v Atalanta (362), Genoa v Como (871), Parma v Pisa (“I take the scarf and the flag painted with my colors”, then displaying multiple flags and banners), Lazio v Udinese (191, some Roma friends with them).

In Serie B, Monza welcomed back their close friends from Gijón for the Friday night game against Modena (502). Great pics from Curva Davide Pieri and our friend Andrea Fruttieri.

Other Serie B MD 36 pics include Reggiana v Palermo (1564, “I’ll push you through, but you’ll have to show me your grit”), Cesena v Sampdoria (2448), Venezia v Empoli (tifo from the Curva Nord section of the ground depicted a rose and the banner “to our only love”) and a video from Avellino v Bari (500) as the away fans make their entrance at the Partenio.

In Serie C, Arezzo were eventually promoted back to Serie B after a 19-year hiatus. Great tifo and celebrations by fans in the game against Torres. Main banner read “reach the finish line, write history, ride, prancing horse, towards glory!”
Ascoli instead will have to go through playoffs - 855 attended the away game in Campobasso.
Other clubs like Benevento and Vicenza kept celebrating their promotions with an impactful tifo on one side (“Orgoglio Sannita, guardian of our land, defending our history” showing a sorcerer emerging from ashes) and a massive away presence (1526 in Trieste) on the other side, as they pushed the guests to a tennis result.
It seemed like Sambenedettese would be relegated in Pesaro but two goals in stoppage time first ensured a playout spot, then kept them up altogether – incredible scenes at the Tonino Benelli stadium for the 588 visiting supporters.
Despite the ban, a delegation of Salernitana ultras travelled to Foggia to hang a banner in memory of Samuele, Gaetano, Samuel and Michele, the young “angels” who lost their lives as they travelled back from Foggia away game in Potenza in 2024. The banner read: “there is no observatory, there’s no prefect that can stop the memory of that cursed day: Gaetano, Michele, Samuel and Samuele ultras forever.”
Chieti ultras (around 300) attended the away game in Senigallia against Vigor to push the black and greens in a crucial match. Chieti should now play the playout to avoid relegation. Despite missing the January payment deadline for its employees, the club has just been fined and not deducted points as other clubs hoped. Pics and vid by our friend Andrea Fruttieri.

Matches to be excited about this weekend: Pisa v Lecce, Inter v Parma, Roma v Fiorentina, Empoli v Avellino, Carrarese v Cesena, Arezzo v Vicenza, Messina v Milazzo, Savoia v Sancataldese, Cantù v Treviso (basketball)
Random sticker of the week: Ternana (for those who will sign, for those who won’t be there)
